Scope of Work

Construction Craft Laborers are members of the Laborers International Union of North America. They are skilled construction workers who work in one or more of four specific categories: Commercial construction, highway construction, underground construction and environmental remediation.

Length of Program

The Michigan Laborers Training & Apprenticeship Institute offers an apprenticeship program requiring 4,000 hours of diversified work and training with no less than 400 hours of related instructional classes.


  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old
  • May be required to pass a drug test
  • Must be physically able to perform the work of the trade
  • Need to have a good attitude and be willing to learn
  • Need to understand the importance of punctuality and good attendance
  • Must have reliable transportation
